Work under general direction responsibility for functional management of activities within technical specialty group ensuring availability of technical proficiency to achieve objectives and contractual obligations. Responsibilities Include: Origination of concepts and evolution of concepts into functional subsystem and component level detail designs; System level integration of mechanical and electrical components/subsystems of mobile military combat systems; Consideration of human factors, safety, supportability/maintainability, and producibility factors during the design process; Engineering calculations; Technical Data Package preparation; Technical consultant within specialized engineering discipline; Development of technical plan (technical approach, cost and schedule), and technical supervision of engineers and designers to achieve compliance with technical, cost, and schedule targets; Preparation of proposals, technical reports, briefings and status reports; Heavy interaction with customers and suppliers; Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
BS in Engineering (mechanical or electromechanical preferred); 10+ years'''' applied design experience on military ground vehicles, off-road vehicles, agricultural, or mining products; Subsystem/System level integration experience; Working knowledge of one or more of the following: mechanisms, robotics, chassis structures, ballistic armor, lightweight materials, electromechanical systems; Highly developed written and verbal communications; Ability to function as a member as of a multi-site design team; Ability to meet aggressive schedules; Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
