· Assume overall project responsibilities for major development projects including product design, design review, BOM modifications, cost reduction actions, etc. · Design and develop new features and/or products in order to fulfill marketing requests and follow through on new product ideas. · Coordinate development of CAD databases, drawings of parts and assembly requirements, prototypes, and establish project cost guidelines and schedules. · Oversee final design and detail of products and/or parts while meeting production schedule. · Establish test requirements, perform tests on electronic parts, and resolve issues related to in house design, lab testing, quality and reliability. · Supervise direct reports, set daily work schedules and priorities, control attendance and overtime, maintain employee records, and respond to personnel issues.
Requirements:
· BSEE with 7-9 years experience in the high-volume design of electro-mechanical consumer products (vacuum cleaners, power tool, major appliances, personal care appliances or lawn and garden equipment), or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Special Skills and Technical Knowledge:
· Strong experience with electromechanical systems including AC and DC motor control and conversions, and power management. · Solid experience with analog and digital circuit design, including printed circuit board design, layout and assembly from concept to production. · P-CAD proficiency
