Position Duties: - Review construction of appliances to ensure compliance with applicable UL or IEC safety standard. - Develop test programs to verify construction complies with safety requirements. - Write complete descriptions and take photographs of products for submittal to safety agencies. - Conduct grand openings of new products and verify product has been produced in the same manner as it was submitted to the safety agency. - Review engineering product change requests to ensure change being proposed does not impact certification. - Submit to the appropriate safety agency(s) product changes, such as cost reductions or product improvements, which impact the certification of the appliance. Experience Requirements: - Engineering degree from a 4-year college or 2-year college w/correct experience prefered. Minimum 2-year technical or eqivalent is required. - Experience with certification agencies and testing plus a background with electrically operated appliances - Must be able to interpret safety standards. - Must be computer literate enough to prepare test reports and plus transfer data to test agencies.
