This position will be the expert technical and design resource that champions the consistent use of high performance design practices and standards for the refrigeration division. This person will engineer, lead and manage multi-functional teams through the Product Development System and ultimately launch product designs into the market. The Chief Engineer for Refrigeration will report to the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
Provide expertise in the design and engineering of all current and future refrigeration products and systems. Identify design / performance requirements for refrigeration products and systems. Participate / Lead the Product Development Process for various refrigeration products and systems. Develop and manage project plans and timelines within the scope of the Product Development Process. Set the direction and manage the workflow of the engineering team within the scope of assigned projects. Develop and maintain high performance design practices and standards for the refrigeration engineering team. Establish and grow relationships with all Refrigeration stakeholders in the pursuit products and processes that exceed expectations. Review and evaluate ECN's through the PLM system.
General Requirements
Expertise in the design, function and performance requirements of key components in a refrigeration product and system. Experience leading complex product development initiatives from concept through production. Ability to apply expertise across multiple projects to ensure high performance design practices and standards are met. Flexible and willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Requirements
8 to 10 years of product design experience in the consumer refrigeration or HVAC related industry. Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (BSME preferred. MSME is a plus) Experience with a 3D parametric CAD design package. (ProE preferred)
