Key Responsibilities
New product design Develop design ideas and details through engineering layouts Approve all technical literature Produce production drawings Develop procedures for and perform testing Create product technical specifications Design and assemble prototypes Coordinate the development process for new and existing products Lead intradepartmental teams through the product planning process Initiate and conduct reviews throughout the development process Coordinate and maintain approvals from safety agencies including: UL, EN and ASME Provide technical support to other departments Acquire knowledge of market conditions that affect product design Acquire knowledge of latest technologies and advise management when new technologies should be incorporated into existing products
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of engineering experience with a focus on electro-mechanical product designs 2 years+ project management experience Experience managing projects with vendors and multi-site design teams Modeling/Drafting skills-SolidWorks or similar 3D solids software proficiency is required Excellent verbal and written communication skills
